Leica GEOVID 15X56 HD-R Laser RangeFinder, Binoculars – Meters
State of the art optical instruments, the Leica Geovid HD-R Laser Rangefinder Binoculars are an invaluable aid in the
field for both the serious hunter and sports shooter.
The New Model from Leica Sport Optics, the Geovid HD-R, the update of the popular and highly sought
after Laser Rangefinder Binoculars featuring mechanical, electronic and optical properties that have
become the ultimate in the more than decade since its introduction almost legendary.
This new version offers the capability to precisely calculate the Equivalent Horizontal Range (EHR) both uphill and
downhill, giving the hunter both the direct linear range and the corrected horizontal range for the site angle.
Geovid HD-R 56 model is particularly suitable for viewing well into the hours of twilight.
Precise distance determination is guaranteed in any weather.
Yet, they work without any compromise in their compact form or ergonomic properties.
The EHR value is much more important than the linear distance, as the bullet’s true ballistic curve can only be calculated from the EHR.
Leica determines the EHR using an integrated electronic Inclinometer and a special computing method developed especially for this purpose.
The maximum range of the eye-safe laser rangefinder (Class 1 laser product) is approximately 1300 meters.
EHR values for distances up to 600 meters can be measured, beyond that, only linear distances are displayed in the internal LED display.
The new Geovid HD-R retains the timeless classic binocular design of the previous HD, and is waterproof to a depth of five meters!
Includes the LRF module and measuring performance.
Using a single button for the distance and EHR measure, the Geovid HD-R is the perfect choice for those mountain hunters that do not need any sophistication or programming, and simply need reliable and accurate angle of site compensation.
The 15×56 Geovid HD-R Laser Rangefinder Binocular from Leica combines a precision optical instrument with a laser rangefinder to create a
versatile tool that is useful whether you’re nature-watching or hunting.
The large objective lenses give this binocular greater performance in low-light conditions, such as at
dawn and dusk, versus smaller objectives.
Optically, the binoculars use fluoride glass and Leica’s proprietary HDC multicoatings that produce bright and clear images with high contrast and true colour fidelity.
The housing is nitrogen-filled and o-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance.
Two-position click-stop twist-up eyecups allow you to customize your eye relief with or without eye wear.
The built-in rangefinder uses a class 1 eye-safe IR laser to measure distances from 9 to 1280 meters.
You can range to a stationary target in single-distance mode, or use the scan mode to track moving
targets or to quickly measure multiple subjects.
The rangefinder has a built-in inclinometer that measures the up or down viewing angle, and calculates and displays an adjusted horizontal distance that can assist you in ballistic compensation calculations.
This model displays ranges in Meters only, and it cannot be changed.
The Leica 15×56 Geovid HD-R Rangefinder Binocular contains image quality of a fully multicoated optical path with the functionality of a 1280
Meter laser rangefinder and integrated ballistics computer.
Using an array of built-in sensors, this electro-optic measures the ambient atmospheric conditions as well as the shooter’s angle relative to the target.
By compiling data from the laser rangefinder and environmental sensors, the ballistics computer will calculate several values that can help improve shot placement.
Leica’s Advanced Ballistic Compensation (ABC) technology combines temperature and air pressure readings with rangefinder data, zeroing distance and user-defined ballistics curve to calculate ballistic compensation values.
To maximize the accuracy of compensation values, the Geovid HD-R allows the shooter to input their rifle’s zero distance and select a ballistics curve corresponding to the chambered round.
The HD-R is pre-loaded with 12 ABC ballistics curves for various calibers and weights and alternative ballistics curves can be stored and uploaded using the included micros card.
An in-view LED display allows the observer to view the calculated ABC values without taking their eyes off the visual scene.
